Best IPTV Sweden 2026: Top 3 Services Compared

Best IPTV Sweden 2026: KenoaTV, QueenIPTV and Smartiflix compared on Nordic channels, prices and trials, plus TV4 Play, Viaplay and the new law.

KenoaTV Editorial Team23 min read

Finding the best IPTV Sweden viewers can rely on in 2026 means answering two questions that most "IPTV Sverige" sales pages skip: which Swedish and Nordic channels are actually in the catalog, and where you stand legally now that Sweden is moving to fine viewers of unlicensed services. Both matter more here than in almost any other European market. Swedish football and hockey rights moved to TV4 Play this year, the licensed streamers charge between 69 kr and 779 kr a month depending on the package, and a government inquiry has proposed that watching illegal IPTV should itself be punishable from 1 July 2026. This guide ranks three IPTV services for households in Sweden, lists what their Scandinavia channel groups contain, compares them with SVT Play, TV4 Play and Viaplay, and ends with a Swedish-language summary.

Quick answer: KenoaTV ranks first in this comparison for viewers in Sweden. Its channel page lists a Scandinavia group of 346 channels inside a catalog of 25,000+ channels across 58 country groups (the provider's own counts), plans run from $13.99 for one month to $169.99 for 24 months on one connection, and a 36-hour free trial with no card lets you check the Swedish channels before paying. QueenIPTV sells the same catalog billed in pounds, and Smartiflix is the cheapest single month at $14 with a 24-hour trial. For guaranteed, licensed Swedish TV, SVT Play is free, TV4 Play carries Allsvenskan and the SHL, and Viaplay's packages start at 199 kr a month.

Editorial disclosure

KenoaTV publishes this article and sells IPTV subscriptions, including the service ranked first, so it has a commercial interest in this ranking. QueenIPTV, ranked second, is closely related to KenoaTV and shares its trial, refund and channel catalog structure. Prices, plan lengths, trial terms, refund rules and channel counts were checked on each provider's official website on 11 October 2026, and the Viaplay and Stan prices quoted were read from those services' own pages the same day. Channel and VOD counts are the providers' own claims. We ran no speed or buffering tests and publish no star ratings, uptime figures or user reviews.

What changed for Swedish viewers in 2026

QuestionAnswer
Where is Allsvenskan?TV4 Play. Svensk Elitfotboll announced that TV4 and Telia took over exclusive rights to Allsvenskan and Superettan from the 2026 season, with TV4 Play as the new home, in a deal reported to run to 2031.
Where is the SHL?Also TV4. The league renewed its domestic rights with TV4 Media; sport-rights reporting puts the end of that deal at 2029-30, and HockeyAllsvenskan's new deal runs from 2026/27 with up to 450 games a season on TV4 Play and TV4's linear channels.
What does Viaplay cost?Viaplay's own site listed three tiers on 11 October 2026: an ordinary price of 199 kr, 479 kr and 779 kr a month, with the first month at 169 kr, 449 kr and 749 kr, and discounts of 20 to 150 kr a month for a six-month binding period or an ad-supported version.
Is SVT Play free?Yes. SVT Play is the public broadcaster's free streaming service, funded through the public-service fee, and it needs no subscription.
Is watching illegal IPTV a crime?A government inquiry (SOU 2025:100) proposed fines for private viewers and up to six years in prison for operators, with 1 July 2026 as the intended start date. We could not confirm on 11 October 2026 whether the Riksdag had adopted it, so treat the position as "proposed, not yet verified".

What is IPTV?

IPTV, or Internet Protocol Television, delivers live TV channels, films and series over your broadband connection instead of through a satellite dish, a cable box or the terrestrial network. You install a player app on a smart TV, Apple TV, Android TV box, Firestick, MAG box or phone, enter the login details your provider sends by e-post, and the app loads a channel list and an EPG, the electronic program guide. In Sweden, where fiber and fast mobile broadband are the norm, the technology itself is not the bottleneck; what separates services is which channel groups they carry, how their servers hold up during a Saturday evening Allsvenskan or SHL round, and whether the provider holds the rights to what it streams. Licensed streaming services such as SVT Play, TV4 Play and Viaplay are themselves IPTV. Unlicensed providers that re-stream those channels are not, however polished their apps look.

How we chose the best IPTV for Sweden

We applied the same checks to all three services, and we did not run speed tests or assign scores:

  1. Nordic channel coverage. Whether the channel page lists a Scandinavia or Sweden group, how large it is, and whether the provider publishes that list before you pay. Counts are treated as the provider's claims.
  2. Price per month on the single-connection plan, read from the pricing page today, and how far the per-month equivalent falls on 3, 6 and 12 månader plans.
  3. Trial length. A trial that covers a full Saturday evening lets you test streams at the peak-traffic window for Swedish sport.
  4. Refund terms, read from each provider's refund page, since a plan billed once for 12 months is a real commitment.
  5. Device compatibility and simultaneous streams: Apple TV, Android TV, smart TV, Firestick and MAG, and how many enheter (devices) can stream at once.
  6. Streaming quality: whether HD and 4K feeds are offered and what connection speed each needs. We did not measure uptime or bitrates, so we make no claims that one service buffers less than another.
  7. Transparency: whether the provider publishes installation and refund pages, labels channel counts as claims, and answers support questions before you subscribe.

1. KenoaTV: best IPTV service for Sweden overall

KenoaTV takes first place because it combines a published Scandinavia channel group with the largest USA, Canada and UK groups in its catalog, which suits Swedish households that watch domestic TV alongside English-language sport and series.

KenoaTV pricing (single connection, checked 11 October 2026)

PlanPricePer-month equivalent
1 month$13.99$13.99
3 months$34.99$11.66
6 months$59.99$10.00
12 months$99.99$8.33
24 months$169.99$7.08

Every plan is billed once for its full term, and the per-month figure is an arithmetic comparison, not an installment. Plans for two to five simultaneous connections cost more; the pricing page shows every combination and converts the dollar price for you.

Key features

  • A published Scandinavia group: the channel page lists 346 Scandinavia channels among 58 country and regional groups and 25,000+ channels in total. There is no separate Sweden group; Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Finnish channels sit together under Scandinavia. These are the provider's own counts, and the page states that counts are snapshots that can change by package and source.
  • Large English-language groups: 7,280 USA channels, 1,541 Canada channels and 1,365 United Kingdom channels (provider claims), which is where most Premier League, NHL and US series viewing happens for Swedish households.
  • 36-hour free trial with no card, extendable twice, so a Friday start covers a Saturday evening of Allsvenskan, SHL or Champions League.
  • Films and series on demand (VOD), in HD and 4K where the source allows it.
  • Apps for Apple TV, Android TV, Samsung and LG smart TVs, Firestick, MAG, iOS and Android, with device-by-device walkthroughs on the installation page.
  • Refund policy published in full: up to 50% pro rata, only with at least 7 days of the plan left, and nothing on purchases of $5 or less.

Best for

A Swedish household that wants Nordic channels, English-language sport and a large VOD library in one app, with a trial long enough to test a real match night first.

Things to consider

Billing is in US dollars, so your bank sets the exchange rate and may add a foreign-transaction fee. The Scandinavia group is a regional bundle, not a Sweden-only list, so write to support and ask whether the specific Swedish channels you watch are in the current list before paying. Channel counts are claims, not audited figures.

2. QueenIPTV: best for paying in pounds

QueenIPTV sells the same catalog structure as KenoaTV, priced in sterling, which suits UK-linked households in Sweden and anyone who prefers to pay in pounds rather than dollars.

QueenIPTV pricing (single connection, checked 11 October 2026)

PlanPricePer-month equivalent
1 month£11.99£11.99
3 months£24.99£8.33
6 months£34.99£5.83
12 months£49.99£4.17
24 months£79.99£3.33

Key features

  • The same 346-channel Scandinavia group as KenoaTV, plus a larger United Kingdom group of 1,765 channels (provider claims), useful for British series and UK sport.
  • 36-hour trial, no card, extendable twice, and the same 50% refund rule.
  • Apps for the same devices, with its own installation guides.

Best for

Viewers who want to pay in pounds, or who follow UK channels as closely as Swedish ones.

Things to consider

Sterling billing means a Swedish card pays an exchange-rate margin. The pricing page shows a USD equivalent for every plan, so compare the total against KenoaTV before you choose.

3. Smartiflix: cheapest single month

Smartiflix is the budget pick. Its price grid, read today on smartiflix.org, runs $14 for one month, $36 for three, $47 for six and $69 for twelve, and its site says the yearly plan works out at roughly $6 a month.

Key features

  • 61,000+ live channels and 180,000+ films and series on demand, which are the provider's own figures; the site does not break out a Sweden or Nordic group.
  • 24-hour free trial with no card, then a one-month plan at $14.
  • Plans for one to four devices, card, PayPal and crypto payment, and credentials by email in about five minutes according to its site.

Best for

A viewer who wants the cheapest way to test IPTV for a single month.

Things to consider

Smartiflix's FAQ states that all sales are final once you subscribe, so the 24-hour trial is your only test window; start it on a Saturday afternoon. Its main .com domain returned a server error when we checked today, so use the .org or .net address, and ask support directly which Swedish channels are carried before you pay.

Licensed Swedish streaming: SVT Play, TV4 Play and Viaplay

Any honest IPTV comparison for Sweden has to put the licensed services on the same table, because for Swedish sport they are the only guaranteed route.

  • SVT Play is free, carries SVT1, SVT2, Barnkanalen, Kunskapskanalen and SVT's news and drama on demand, and works on every smart TV and phone without a login for most content.
  • TV4 Play has a free tier and paid packages. According to a Swedish guide published in October 2025, the Plus tier starts at about 69 kr a month, the Sport Fotboll package with Allsvenskan and Superettan at roughly 349 to 449 kr, the Sport Hockey package with the SHL at roughly 499 to 549 kr, and Sport Total at roughly 549 to 649 kr; TV4 did not show a public price list to our request today, so confirm on tv4play.se.
  • Viaplay listed 199 kr, 479 kr and 779 kr a month as ordinary prices on 11 October 2026, with introductory first-month prices and discounts for ad-supported or six-month-binding versions. Its sport covers the Champions League and other international rights rather than the domestic leagues.

An IPTV service such as KenoaTV complements these for international channels, English-language series and VOD. It does not replace TV4 Play as the rights holder for Allsvenskan or the SHL, and no unlicensed re-stream of those broadcasts is legal in Sweden. That distinction is worth repeating because so many "Nordic IPTV" and "IPTV Sverige" sales pages present premium sport channels as part of a cheap bundle without saying who holds the rights; a stable, licensed stream of Allsvenskan costs what TV4 charges, and an IPTV subscription is for the kanaler, filmer och serier around it.

What Swedish IPTV sales pages claim, and how to read them

The pages that rank for "bästa IPTV Sverige" make a familiar set of claims, and it helps to know how to read them before you compare:

  • Channel counts of 10,000, 25,000 or 58,000 and VOD libraries of 85,000 titles are the provider's own figures, never audited. The number that matters is whether SVT1, SVT2, TV4, Kanal 5 and the sport channels you watch are in the current list.
  • "99.9% uptime", "no buffering" and "H.265/HEVC 4K" are marketing statements. Encoding in H.265 does reduce the bandwidth 4K needs, but a stream is only as stable as the server behind it and your own connection; plan for 10 Mbit per HD stream and 25 to 50 Mbit for 4K.
  • Prices "from 5 € a month" and flexible plans "without binding" are common. Very low prices for a bundle that includes every Swedish premium sport channel are a red flag, because the licensed rights holders charge far more than that for the same content.
  • "Support within 15 minutes" via WhatsApp or live chat is easy to test: send one question before you pay.
  • "100% legal and safe" is a claim, not a licence. Legal Swedish IPTV is operated by established media companies with broadcasting rights; an independent reseller that cannot name its licences is not in that category, and Swedish courts are increasingly blocking such services.

Regional guide: Swedish TV at home and abroad

Sweden

At home, the practical setup for most households is SVT Play plus either TV4 Play Sport or Viaplay for the sport you follow, with an IPTV service for everything international. On a 100 Mbit fiber line, two or three simultaneous HD streams are no problem; the limiting factor is usually the Wi-Fi link to an older smart TV, which is why the setup section below recommends Ethernet for the main screen.

Swedes in the USA and Canada

For Swedish families in North America, the Scandinavia group is the main reason to consider KenoaTV, alongside its 7,280-channel USA group and 1,541-channel Canada group (provider claims). Time zones work in your favor: a 15:00 Allsvenskan kick-off is a morning match on the East Coast. See our Canada comparison for Canadian pricing context.

Swedes elsewhere in Europe

Within the EU, portability rules let you use a Swedish subscription to SVT Play, TV4 Play or Viaplay temporarily while traveling, but not permanently from another member state. For a permanent move, the Scandinavia group on KenoaTV or QueenIPTV sits beside the German, French, Spanish and Italian groups in the same catalog; our Europe guide and Germany guide cover those markets, and our sister site's comparison of the best IPTV for UK expats in Europe covers British viewers on the continent.

Buying guide: how to choose an IPTV subscription in Sweden

  • Ask for the Nordic channel list before you pay. A "Scandinavia" group of 346 channels tells you the size, not whether SVT1, TV4, Kanal 5, TV6 or Sjuan are in it. Write to support with the five channels you watch most and keep the answer.
  • Start the trial on a Saturday evening. Server stability at 20:00 during an SHL round tells you more than any channel count.
  • Check subtitles. Ask whether Swedish subtitles (svensk text) are carried on the VOD titles you care about; many international films and series in IPTV catalogs carry only the source-language audio.
  • Check your connection. HD streams need around 10 Mbit per stream and 4K around 25 Mbit; a wired connection beats Wi-Fi for the living-room TV.
  • Read the refund page. KenoaTV and QueenIPTV cap refunds at 50% with 7 days left; Smartiflix offers none.
  • Count your screens. A family that wants the SHL in the living room and a series in a bedroom needs a two-connection plan.
  • Prefer providers that publish installation and refund pages over ones that only answer on Telegram, and prefer a service that lets you pay by card through a checkout you can see, rather than by bank transfer to an individual.
  • Keep the licensed option in mind. For Swedish sport, TV4 Play is the rights holder; an IPTV service is for the rest of the world of television, not a way around that.

How to set up IPTV on Apple TV, Android TV and a smart TV

  1. Start a free trial on the provider's site and wait for the email with your server URL, username and password.
  2. Install a player app. On Apple TV, use the App Store; on Android TV boxes and Nvidia Shield, install TiviMate or IPTV Smarters from Google Play; Samsung and LG smart TVs have IPTV players in their own stores; a MAG box takes a portal URL instead.
  3. Enter your login details using the Xtream Codes option, or paste the M3U playlist link if the app asks for one.
  4. Load the EPG and add your Swedish channels to favorites so SVT, TV4 and the sport channels are one click away.
  5. Test a live stream and a VOD title in HD before the evening peak, then decide on a paid plan. Note any channels that fail to load and send the list to support; how fast they reply is itself a useful test.

The KenoaTV installation page has walkthroughs with screenshots for every device, and our Apple TV comparison goes deeper on that box.

Tips for stable streaming without buffering

  • Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and keep the streaming device close to the router; a fiber line is wasted if the last meters are a weak 2.4 GHz link.
  • Pick an HD feed rather than 4K if your connection is under 25 Mbit or your TV is older; a stable HD stream beats a stuttering 4K one.
  • Enable the player's buffer setting (TiviMate and IPTV Smarters both have one) to smooth brief dips.
  • Restart the device before a big match; older Firesticks and smart TVs benefit from a clean start.
  • Keep a backup: if a feed drops in the first period, a second channel carrying the same broadcast, or the licensed app, saves the night. Our buffering guide covers the rest.

Is IPTV legal in Sweden?

IPTV as a technology is legal in Sweden, and SVT Play, TV4 Play and Viaplay are all IPTV. What is illegal is distributing broadcasts without the rights holder's permission, and the position for viewers is changing:

  • The proposed law. In September 2025 the Minister of Culture presented a government inquiry's proposals, later published as SOU 2025:100, to make private use of illegal IPTV explicitly punishable by a fine, with up to six years in prison for the operators behind the services, plus search-engine delisting and live blocking of pirate streams. The intended start date was 1 July 2026. On 11 October 2026 we could not confirm whether the Riksdag had adopted the law or what the fine levels are, so check riksdagen.se before assuming either way.
  • Enforcement is already real. In 2025 the Patent and Market Court ordered Telenor and other ISPs to block pirate IPTV providers at the request of Viaplay, TV4 and Discovery. In January 2026, as TorrentFreak reported, the takedown of the Nordicplay operation linked 4,886 subscribers to payments, and the Rights Alliance suggested police could warn those customers directly.
  • The market is shrinking. Mediavision estimated in September 2026 that about 465,000 Swedish households had access to illegal IPTV in spring 2026, down from about 640,000 a year earlier.

For viewers, the practical steps are to prefer providers that are transparent about their licensing, to confirm that a service has the rights to show a channel in Sweden before subscribing, and to remember that the licensed Swedish services are the only guaranteed route to Allsvenskan, the SHL and SVT. KenoaTV states that access must follow the rules that apply in your region; our guide to legal and unverified IPTV explains how to tell the two apart.

Frequently asked questions

Is IPTV legal to use in Sweden?

The technology is legal; SVT Play, TV4 Play and Viaplay are IPTV. Using a provider that re-streams channels without the rights is the problem, and a government inquiry has proposed fines for private viewers with an intended start date of 1 July 2026. We could not confirm adoption on 11 October 2026.

How much is IPTV per month in Sweden?

The three services here charge $13.99, £11.99 and $14 for a single month. Twelve-month plans bring the per-month equivalent down to $8.33, £4.17 and roughly $6. For comparison, Viaplay's ordinary prices start at 199 kr a month and TV4 Play's sport packages run from roughly 349 kr.

Which IPTV service is the best in Sweden in 2026?

In this comparison, KenoaTV ranks first because it publishes a 346-channel Scandinavia group (provider claim), offers a 36-hour trial without a card and prints its refund terms. QueenIPTV is the same catalog in pounds and Smartiflix the cheapest single month.

Does KenoaTV have a Sweden-only channel group?

No. Swedish channels sit inside the Scandinavia group alongside Norwegian, Danish and Finnish ones. Ask support for the current Swedish list before you buy.

What are good Swedish streaming sites?

SVT Play (free), TV4 Play (free tier plus paid sport packages, home of Allsvenskan and the SHL) and Viaplay (from 199 kr a month) are the licensed options. Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max also operate in Sweden.

Can I pay for IPTV with PayPal in Sweden?

Smartiflix lists PayPal, card and crypto. KenoaTV and QueenIPTV take card payments through their checkout; our guide to paying for IPTV by card explains what to look for.

Can I use IPTV on Apple TV?

Yes. All three services work with Apple TV player apps from the App Store, using Xtream Codes or an M3U link. KenoaTV's installation page has an Apple TV walkthrough.

What is the best IPTV box in 2026?

An Apple TV 4K or an Nvidia Shield covers most Swedish homes; a Firestick 4K is the budget choice, and a MAG box suits viewers who prefer a portal-style guide. All run the main IPTV players.

What is the highest-rated IPTV player app?

TiviMate (Android TV) and IPTV Smarters Pro (most platforms) are the apps the providers here recommend. Our players guide compares them.

Is Nordic IPTV legal?

"Nordic IPTV" is a label many resellers use, not a licensed service. Legality depends on whether a specific provider holds the rights to the channels it carries in Sweden, so ask before you pay.

Final verdict

For a Swedish household in 2026, the sensible setup is SVT Play for free public-service TV, TV4 Play or Viaplay for the sport you follow, and one IPTV service for the Nordic, English-language and international channels and the VOD library. On that last job, KenoaTV ranks first in this comparison: a published 346-channel Scandinavia group inside a 25,000+ catalog (provider claims), plans from $13.99 to $169.99 billed once, a 36-hour trial without a card, and refund terms you can read before paying. QueenIPTV is the pick if you pay in pounds, and Smartiflix is the cheapest way to cover a single month. Whatever you choose, ask for the Swedish channel list first, start the trial on a Saturday evening, and keep an eye on the Riksdag's decision on viewer fines.

Start with the KenoaTV free trial, test it on match night and decide for yourself.
